Abdim’s Stork (also called White-bellied Stork) is a species of ciconiiforme bird from the Ciconiidae family, native to the Arabian and African peninsula. Towards the north its distribution reaches as far as the south and east of the Sahara Desert, from Senegal to the east and Ethiopia, and the extreme south of the Arabian Peninsula. To the south its distribution reaches the southeast of the African continent.
The Abdim's Stork is the smallest species of stork (although it is still a large bird), and can grow to 73cm, weighing a little over 1 kg. The female is slightly smaller than the male.
