Crossing the suspension bridges and the large wooden bridge, similar to those that span the rivers and lakes of the African continent, is an essential experience on a tour of Selwo Aventura, although less intrepid visitors can take an alternative route if they wish!
As you enter the park you are welcomed by the 65-metre suspension bridge over the large lake of the Nature's Gateway, from where you will enjoy a unique panoramic view of some of the wild birds that inhabit it all year round and listen to the loud calls of the lemurs that they use to communicate through the vegetation.
Continuing your expedition through Selwo Aventura, you will find another suspension bridge from which you will enjoy an unusual perspective of the territory of the Iberian lynx, a habitat that is home to a specimen from the conservation programme of this endangered species. Further on, you can climb to the top for a unique view of the species that inhabit the Birds Canyon. From this bridge, you will be amazed by the birds majestic flight over the treetops and discover the nests where each year they incubate their eggs and raise the new generations within the conservation programmes for endangered species.
When you pass the large aviary, you will have reached the Central Village by crossing this incredible wooden bridge with a unique view of the endangered Asian elephant habitat and the Lakes Reserve, inhabited by the most emblematic herbivore species of the African continent that we host as part of the conservation programmes for endangered species: rhinos, hippos, zebras, giraffes, wildebeests and antelopes. After taking the time you need to take the best photos of your visit on this bridge, you will get to know the real king of the African savannah up close. You can't miss it!
The tour of the bridges is open during opening hours, unless weather, security or operational conditions do not allow it. For operational reasons, the viewpoints of the Lakes Reserve and the Central Village (upper area of the park) close one hour before the rest of the park, while the Portico de la Naturaleza can be visited until closing time. Selwo Aventura reserves the right to modify or suspend its opening hours and certain services or activities due to weather or operational reasons.
