Silk Floss Tree
ree that grows to 8-10m in height, with greenish trunk, covered in conical thorns. Two-toned flowers, pink and inside white and yellow, which are distributed throughout the crown of the tree. Fruit in a pod and seeds wrapped in cotton grass fibres.
DISTRIBUTION: Originally from Brazil, Northeast Argentina, Paraguay.
CURIOSITIES: The cotton grass fibre encapsulating the seeds has been used as filling for pillows, cushions, etc.
