A small shrub, about 0.5 - 2 m high. Grayish foliage. Lanceolate leaves, bright green on the upper side and whitish on the underside due to the presence of hairs. Flowers gathered in clusters at the nodes at the end of the branches, bluish-white. A dried fruit, separated in 4 rough brown parts, which is dispersed by ants.
