Jerusalem thorn
Originally from Mexico to the north of South America, Jerusalem thorn is a small tree of 6-8 m height. Deciduous leaves consisting of small leaflets. Very eye-catching flowers which hang in yellow-orange bunches.
Brown-coloured fruit in a legume of 8-10cm. The fruit is edible and has a pleasant flavour. Infusions of its leaves are used as febrifuge, anticonvulsant and abortion-inducing agent. The bark with sugar and lemon is used to treat coughs.
