Plant of 2-6m in height. Long, bayonet-shaped leaves, of up to 50-75cm in length and green in colour. Large white flowers which grow on stalks that emerge from the centre of the plant. The fruits are black, dry or meaty berries in bunches.
DISTRIBUTION: Originally from North America and Central America.
CURIOSITIES: The name “yucca” comes from the Caribbean name given to the edible yucca, from where tapioca and manioc is obtained.
