Camel Ride

Adventure enthusiasts can enjoy a ride on the back of a camel along a path which bears the name of these legendary animals, located on the Central Village Route at Selwo Aventura. Whilst enjoying this unique experience, you can contemplate an incredible landscape dominated by the Asian elephant’s habitat at Selwo Aventura and the Great Bridge of Africa, of 100 metres length and 16 metres height, similar to the huge gateways that cross the legendary African rivers.

Archery

Selwo Aventura has prepared archery facilities for those who want to test their dexterity and aim. Specialists in the handling of the rudimentary weapons of the African tribes will hit the target first go, while those who need more practice can shoot a few time until the hit the “bullseye”.

Kuruka

Selwo Aventura has prepared an activity especially designed for those who don’t know the meaning of the word vertigo: Kuruka, which means “to jump” in the Swahili dialect. An installation consisting of four trampolines which enable you to jump up to 8 metres in height and perform pirouettes and gymnastic exercises without your feet touching the floor. Strategically located on the banks of the Great Lake of Africa, on Nature’s Portico Route, it represents an excellent opportunity to see this unrivalled enclave from the “sky”.

Ziwa Zipwire

Selwo Aventura has the longest zip-wire in Europe: Ziwa, a fixed zip-wire of 116 metres length, enables visitors to slide down it and enjoy a “bird’s eye view” of the Great Lake of Africa, located in Nature’s Portico, the first of the routes at Selwo Aventura.

Ziwa, “flying over the lake” in Swahili, reaches a top speed of 14,8 metres per second and has an incline of 13 metres. The new Selwo Aventura zip-wire has its starting point to the north of the Lake of Africa, next to the entrance to the Canyon of the Birds, where a specially designed turret has been installed from which intrepid adventurers begin a very special “flight” which enables them to slide down and enjoy a “bird’s eye view” of the Great Lake of Africa and the lush vegetation surrounding it. The slide finishes on the arrival platform, installed to the south of the Lake, very close to the Park’s Primates.

Ziwa is designed for all members of the public to enjoy as there are no special physical conditions required. The weight required for this activity must range between 35kg and 90 kg.

The full range of open-air adventure activities at SELWO AVENTURA form part of the many attractions of this unique Park which combines Adventure, Fauna and Nature, where the visitor, far from being a mere spectator, becomes the protagonist of an unforgettable day. As well as the opportunity to see over 2.000 animals of different species from all five continents, Selwo Aventura provides the opportunity to undertake a variety of adventure activities.
